Versa Slate is a paperless braille slate. You write braille with the stylus, turn the slate over and read the dots with your fingers. When the note is no longer needed, you erase it with the buttons and the slate is ready again.
The slate is made by Overflow Biz in South Korea. It is meant for short notes, reminders and braille practice: for children and adults learning braille, and for teachers and vision consultants who need a slate to practise on again and again.
How to use it
- Write with the stylus on the front from right to left, as on an ordinary braille slate, starting in the top right cell.
- Turn the slate over and read from left to right, from the top left cell.
- Erase part of the text by pressing the buttons for that section. A single dot is pressed down gently with a fingertip, not with the stylus.
- The stylus is magnetic and attaches to the side of the slate, so it does not get lost.
Good to know
There is room for 80 characters at a time, and the note stays until it is erased. Versa Slate is a notepad, not a replacement for paper for longer texts. For bigger jobs see our braille embossers.

No. The dots are pressed into the slate itself and erased again with the buttons.
