Harpo PIAF Pen fine is a black marker from Harpo (Poland) for drawing on swell paper (microcapsule paper). What you draw with the marker rises when the sheet is heated, so the drawing can be read with the fingers. The writing tip is 1–4 mm wide – good for outlines, small details, arrows and labels.
What is it for?
- Draw a sketch, an exercise or a shape by hand in minutes and make it tactile straight away.
- Add details to a sheet that has already been printed.
- Teaching: teachers and vision teachers can draw a diagram or maths task right in the lesson.
It fits the Harpo PIAF and heaters from other makers. Use swell paper, for example Harpo swell paper A4 or A3.

Frequently asked questions
Should I choose the fine or the thick one?
The fine one (1–4 mm) is for outlines, small details, arrows and labels. The thick one (2–7 mm) is for bold lines, borders on maps and large shapes. Together they make it easy to tell the main from the minor by touch: see Harpo PIAF Pen thick 2–7 mm.
Why does it have to be black?
Only black lines rise when the paper is heated. A thicker line rises higher than a thin one, so thin and thick lines can be told apart by feel.
Can I use it on ordinary paper?
No, the drawing only rises on swell paper. Read the guide Tactile graphics on swell paper.
