KOBA Vision Vocatex Standard is an easy-to-use read-aloud video magnifier for the home. Put the newspaper, a letter or a book under the camera and choose: read it yourself magnified in Full HD – or press a button and have it read aloud. A good choice for older people with low vision, for example age-related macular degeneration (AMD), who want to keep reading on their own.
Read yourself – or listen
- Large talking buttons: the buttons are large, lit and easy to feel, and they say what they do.
- Read-aloud straight away: select the text on the screen and the voice starts reading at once.
- Reads without interruption: move the newspaper while it reads – Vocatex continues with the new text by itself. Even large newspaper pages and thick books.
- You never lose your place: a red frame follows the word being read, and what you see on the screen is what is read aloud.
- Sharp picture: Full HD (1080p) camera with a field of view of approx. 21 cm – the full width of the page.
- High contrast: special contrast settings make the text extra large and clear.
A screen to match the field of vision
Vocatex Standard comes with a 22″, 27″, 32″ or 43″ screen. With macular degeneration the field of vision is often wide, and a large screen gives the best overview. With a narrow field of vision, such as retinitis pigmentosa, both a small and a large screen can work – we are happy to help you choose.

Is Vocatex Standard hard to learn?
No. The buttons are large and different, and they say what they do. Most people can use it after a short introduction.
Can Vocatex Standard read Danish?
Vocatex reads aloud in many languages with female and male voices. Write to us before ordering and we will confirm the Danish voice for your unit.
What is the difference between Vocatex Standard and Vocatex Plus?
Vocatex Standard reads the text the user selects and keeps reading when the text is moved. Vocatex Plus can also read whole A4 pages, has a reading bar for invoices and tables and can show a computer, TV and tablet.
How does a citizen get a video magnifier?
In Denmark, citizens normally apply for assistive devices through their municipality, where a low-vision consultant assesses the need. We sell directly to municipalities, institutions and businesses.
